MONTREAL – The Canadiens de Montreal have reached out to two Ottawa Senators fans who say they were bullied by Habs supporters during Friday night’s game at the Bell Centre.
Katie Kerrick took to Facebook to write that partisans sitting behind her and her sister started harassing them because they were wearing Senators jerseys.

“Throughout the whole game, we were yelled at, sworn at and called many derogatory names,” she wrote.
She said she asked security to help them several times during the game, but nothing was done.
“I reported him to the section attendant and while I did, he and his friend both went out of their way to shove me with force,” she wrote.
“When the Sens lost, the same man who had earlier pushed me leaned over his friends to throw his entire beer on my sister and I.”
During a press conference on Sunday, Montreal mayor Denis Coderre weighed in on the situation.
“If it happened it’s regrettable,” he said.
“The Montreal fans are amazing fans. We are truly respectful…I think the word respect is in order.”
Many Habs fans have taken to social media to express regret at what happened to the two girls.
The Ottawa Senators also announced they’re offering the girls two private seats next to Eugene Melnyk, the team’s owner.
