MEDICINE HAT, Alta. – Alberta’s former environment minister says he’s not running in the next provincial election.
Rob Renner, who was dropped from cabinet by Premier Alison Redford after she won the party leadership, conveyed his decision today on his Twitter feed.

The Medicine Hat member of the legislature has served since 1993 and held two cabinet posts as well as the position of deputy government house leader.
Renner says in his announcement that it’s time for him to move on.

He joins several other former cabinet ministers who have announced they won’t seek re-election, including Iris Evans, Ron Liepert, and Lloyd Snelgrove.
