MIDLAND, Ont. – Police say a nurse has been charged in the death of a patient in a hospital in the central Ontario community of Penetanguishene.
It’s alleged a 39-year-old woman at Georgian Bay General Hospital was taken off life support without authorization.
Police say they started their investigation in March 2014 and arrested the suspect Thursday.

Joanna Flynn, 50, of Wyevale is charged with manslaughter and criminal negligence causing death.
“This is a complex investigation. To preserve the integrity of this investigation and the pending case before the court, no further information will be released,” said Inspector Ron Wheeldon in a media release.
The accused is being held pending a bail hearing.
Police have not released the identity of the victim but published reports say the woman’s name is Deanna Leblanc.
The Toronto Star says Leblanc died on March 2, 2014 after spending less than 24 hours in hospital following minor knee surgery.
