WATCH: ‘Sesame Street’ parodies ‘Game of Thrones’ with ‘Game of Chairs’

TORONTO – Who says Sesame Street is just for kids?

The long running educational children’s show has been spoofing popular TV shows, resulting in viral sensations like House of Bricks and Upside Downton Abbey, appropriately filed under the parents’ section on their site.

The most recent addition to the lot is a version of the fantasy series Game of Thrones.

The clever segment is set in the kingdom of Jesteros where four puppet parodies of Joffrey Baratheon, Daenerys Targeryen, Cersei Lannister and Robb Stark are vying for the top position.

Ned Stark is the game master, while “Grover Bluejoy” is the court jester.

As each character gets knocked out from contention in a game of musical chairs, subtle references to their fates are mentioned.

“Do not lose your head over this, Neddy baby,” says Bluejoy.

Puppets resembling Tyrion Lannister and Melisandre the Red Woman also make cameos.

The segment has been viewed more than 1.5 million times on YouTube since Tuesday and is making its rounds online.
