WINNIPEG – An elderly woman was killed when she was hit by a Winnipeg Transit bus at Keewatin Street and Burrows Avenue Tuesday morning, emergency officials say.
The woman was a pedestrian and was under the bus when emergency responders arrived, District Chief Doug Martin said at the scene.
The bus was headed south on Keewatin at about 9 a.m. when the woman was hit, police said.
Burrows and southbound Keewatin at Inkster Boulevard remained closed at 11 a.m. and were expected to stay closed for several hours for the investigation.
