Watch above: Tamara Beatty is taking a break from her coaching duties in Los Angeles to return home to Saskatoon to hold a workshop for aspiring vocalist.
SASKATOON – Sometimes, you can just tell. It’s not all that often, but I reflect back to a time when sports affiliate Taylor Shire, now of Global Regina, worked among us.
He and I headed up a career fair at Evan Hardy Collegiate. Global table. Global banners. Uninflated Global balloons. Global pens.
I’m not telling any tales out of school when I tell you the balloons were more popular than Taylor and I. However, there was this one girl.
She approached with a sort of mystique, like she thought we were ethereal. Then, she started asking questions. Not about salary, or workload, but about our lives, and how we got to where we were, and what she could do to follow along that same path.
She was there long enough for a good dozen-and-a-half balloons to get plucked off the table, but she didn’t pay attention to that, or them.

I call that the fire. Like I said at the start, sometimes, you can just tell.
With Tamara Beatty, you can just tell. It’s not necessarily broadcasting, and it doesn’t need to be!
She’s proof-positive of what passion can do, and when it comes to being a voice coach consultant, she’s at the top of her game – just don’t tell her that!
I’m sure she’s arching for higher plateaus like the rest of us.
This workshop she’s holding is for the aspiring singer in any of us. From car singers to bar singers, a capellas and opera fellas (and dames, but I’m rhyming).
She’s got a gift, and what she does with it could very easily change you for good.
When I was younger and living in Toronto, I shelled out over $1,000 to work under a masterclass voice actor. What he taught me in those six one-hour sessions has resonated with me for my entire life.
Tamara Beatty is offering singers just that, and hey, it’s at a discount, ‘cause she’s from here!
