Saskatchewan provincial parks see record number of visitors in 2011

REGINA – More people enjoyed Saskatchewan’s provincial parks this year than ever before.

Parks Minister Bill Hutchinson says 3.37 million visits were recorded.

Hutchinson says the popularity of the parks has prompted the government to bring in real-time online booking.

It will allow people to book campsites on the Internet at any time for parks that accept reservations.

They’ll be able to see how much space is left and which campsites are available.

People who choose not to book in advance will still be able to register at any park upon arrival.
