TORONTO — A man armed with a knife and a hammer walked into a Toronto police station Friday afternoon and attacked an officer.
Norman Badria, 41, of Brampton was arrested and is facing seven charges including attempted murder. Police allege he entered the front lobby of 31 Division, in the area of Jane and Finch, around 4 p.m. Friday and began swinging a hammer at the head of an officer.
The officer avoided the blow, but was grazed on the head by the hammer. The officer, along with a second officer who assisted in arresting the man, were treated at hospital for minor injuries and released.
Badria is due to appear in court Mar. 19.
