TORONTO – A photo posted to Facebook by the Oklahoma City Police Department will melt even the coldest heart.
While responding to a service call, Officer Kreig Cook came across a little boy playing in his front yard. When the officer asked the youngster what he was doing, the boy’s response was to run over and ask for a hug.

The moment was captured on camera and posted to the police department’s official Facebook page — and it didn’t take long for it to go viral.
“It reminds me of why we go to work everyday, because you never know whose life you’re going to impact,” Cook said in a News9 report.
At the time of this writing, the image has been viewed over 1 million times. It has received over 61,000 “likes,” over 1,200 comments and over 6,100 shares.
That’s a lot of warmed hearts.
But Cook also believes the image sends a strong message.
“We’re all born the same way, we all put our pants on one leg at a time. And I think that reminds people everything is going to be OK,” Cook told KWTV’s Justin Dougherty.
After the hug, the officer went on to play basketball with the boy and lose in a foot race.
