This week, Global’s Domenic Fazioli found out about a controversial and radical Jewish group that has set up shop in Montreal.
He spoke to the controversial Jewish Defence League, who have been classified as a terrorist organization by the FBI.
“We’re not vigilantes, we’re not looking to attack anyone, anything like that,” said Meir Weinstein with the Jewish Defence League of Canada.
“We’re looking to zero in on radical Islam.”

But advocacy groups in Montreal insist the Jewish Defence League promotes violence – especially when it says it’s ready to tackle the issue of radical Islam.

“We have a problem with any organization that advocates the use of violence,” said Steven Slimovitch with B’Nai Brith.
On Global’s social media sites, most viewers agreed that the last thing Canada needs is another extremist group.
Kyle Harvey – “We do not need groups here that are known to spread hate, should it be a group like this or a radical imam. We have enough hatred here already we do not need more, thank you.”
Fern Corolanco – “So, it’s basically fighting radical Islam with radical Judaism?”
Geraldine M Bligh – “We don’t want radical anything here. Tell them to go home and stay there. Do we want riots in the streets? No, we are a peaceful nation. Let’s keep it that way.”
