GRAND FALLS, N.B. – The lawyer for a New Brunswick potato farmer jailed in Lebanon will be in court today in Edmundston.
Lawyer Bob Creamer will present a plan on how to deal with Henk Tepper’s debts.
An extension order was granted last month giving Tepper’s companies time to work with the banks and secured creditors to come up with a solution.
Tepper has spent the past eight months in a Beirut prison.
He was detained under an international arrest warrant over allegations that he exported rotten potatoes to Algeria in 2007.
Tepper is also accused of forging trade documents.
His sister, meanwhile, led a rally yesterday in Grand Falls.
Hermien Dionne says a Christmas tree has been erected in Tepper’s honour.
Dionne says she hopes the rally puts pressure on the federal government to bring her brother home for the holidays.
