A 36-year-old man from Lillooet has now been charged with murder after another man suffered fatal injuries on Tuesday.
Lillooet RCMP and Stl’atl’imx Tribal Police responded to a report of a serious assault at a home in the 300 block of Mitchell Road around 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
Sixty-one-year-old Gary Mandseth was found suffering from serious, life-threatening injuries. He later died in hospital.
Jeffery David Harris, 36, of Lillooet, has now been charged with second-degree murder. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Kamloops Provincial Court on Feb. 23.
The BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Lillooet RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
