REGINA – A bigger selection of groceries are going to be sold at eight local Shoppers Drug Mart stores starting this spring in Regina.

The new products include fruit, vegetables, meats, and prepared meals.

“This convenience food offering will give our customers the ability to quickly pick-up fresh and healthy items that they may be missing to supplement a meal,” said Sheamus Murphy, acting vice president of communications and corporate affairs for the chain, in an email.

The pilot project started in Toronto in October last year and Regina will be the second market in the country to try this.

Renovations are already underway at most stores around the Queen City and the pilot project is expected to launch in May.
