The weather system bringing snowstorms to the north coast are bringing rainstroms to the south coast.

Highway 99 was reduced to single-lane alternating traffic south of Pemberton Friday due to flooding. According to Drive BC, lanes re-opened early Saturday morning.
There are no reports of any serious damage in the village itself, but a 24-hour self-serve sandbag station has been set up for residents at 7400 Prospect Street.
The rains also affected skiing on Whistler, with some lifts located in higher elevations on Whistler and Blackcomb closed for the day. An icy pond also formed around the Glacier Express. Ski Callaghan has also announced that operations have been shut down over the long weekend.
“Heavy rain and standing water are currently making it impossible to groom until at least Tuesday,” Ski Callaghan said in a statement. A 50 per cent discount on tickets for Family Day has been rescheduled for March 23.
Both Cypress and Grouse Mountain on the North Shore have accumulated over 160 mm in the last 36 hours with more on the way into Sunday.
There are no reports of any issues in Squamish – but the 130 mm of rain they received in the last two days has certainly raised the level of rivers and falls in the area.
