KELOWNA — Some tense moments for a young Kelowna family Monday evening when a fire suddenly broke out in their home.
Firefighters rushed to the residence on Cook Road in Kelowna’s Lower Mission area after reports of a house fire with the owner still inside.
He was actually attacking the small fire himself and according to firefighters was fairly successful.
Kelowna firefighters finished the job and then started venting procedures throughout the house.
The fire started in the laundry room located on the main floor but exactly what caused it is not clear.
A fire investigator will be on scene Tuesday morning to get a better look at things.
The flames were contained to the laundry room but there was some smoke damage to other areas of the home.
No one was injured.
