WINNIPEG — Portico Living has everything from unique home décor to rustic furnishings – and all products sold have a low impact on the environment.
Owner Tracy Musson opened the store at the beginning of June, and so far it has proven a huge hit. The store has a boutique style theme with an emphasis on outdoor and indoor living.
“The items I have for outdoors have the same quality and creature comforts as you would have indoors, like super comfy seating, throws and lanterns,” Musson said. “And for indoors, the inspiration is drawn from the outdoors – like artwork with flowers, furniture made from weathered wood and sculptures of sharks and seahorses.”
Her store also focuses on renewable and reclaimed products. The store’s holiday décor items come from all over the world. There’s 100-year-old fabric from Hungary repurposed and made into Christmas trees, and with antique wooden skis and sleds. Portico also has trees made from recycled barn board adorned with recycled galvanized zinc ornaments and blown-glass acorns in various sizes and shapes.
For more information on Portico Living, check out their website or visit the store at 580 Academy Road, Unit D.
