BATH, N.B. – Police say they have found the body of a man wanted following a standoff and house fire near Bath, N.B.

RCMP say the body of 45-year-old Anthony Armour was found just outside the home on the South Johnville Road around 10:30 a.m. today.

Officers were called to the home around 9 p.m. Friday in connection with a man barricaded inside a house.

Negotiators talked to the man throughout the night, but around 5 a.m. two nearby sheds caught fire and then the house caught fire and was destroyed.

Police had been unable to locate Armour and issued a public plea in the event he had fled the area.
