A bus driver in Florida is being called a hero for her quick action in safely evacuating all the children on board before the bus became engulfed in flames.
Kristina Buhrman was driving towards Discovery Academy in Lake Alfred, Florida when she noticed smoke coming from the back of the bus Wednesday morning. She pulled over and evacuated the children moments before the entire bus burst into flames.
In a 911 call that Buhrman made after evacuating the children, the operator can be heard urging the driver not to get back on the bus to retrieve her belongings.
Video of the incident shows the bus on fire with thick, black smoke and all the children walking down the interstate in an orderly fashion.
No injuries or smoke inhalation were reported.
