Caroline Neron gets inventive in shimmering showcase of jewelry collection

TORONTO – Clothing is typically the feature focus during LG Fashion Week, but it was luxurious jewelry creations from Montreal-based designer Caroline Neron that were the shimmering star attractions Thursday evening.

With a wind machine gusting in the background, models sported full-length and two-piece bodysuits in caramel, chocolate and silver draped in sheer crystal-studded skirts and capes. But it was the ornate jewelled pieces which were the glimmering focal points of the monochromatic ensembles.

Live performances by a singer in a feather-and-jewelled headpiece and a bongo-playing drummer adding to the theatrical flavour of the presentation which evoked the feel of a costume carnival.

Long-threaded chains incorporating luminous crystals, metals and beads adorned models like sensual body armour, fashioned into regal headpieces and shoulder cuffs, threaded loops around torsos and waists and even dangling as sequinned epaulettes.
