TORONTO – Former Ontario NDP Leader Howard Hampton has joined the law firm Fasken Martineau.
Hampton, who chose not to run in this month’s provincial election, will be a member of the firm’s corporate social responsibility and aboriginal affairs groups.

The firm says Hampton’s work around the sustainable use of natural resources and understanding of the north will add significant value the practice.
Hampton announced in July he would retire from politics after 35 years in politics – 24 of them as the MPP for Kenora-Rainy River.
He stepped down as NDP leader in March 2009 and was succeeded by Andrea Horwath.
The lawyer and former Attorney General will begin his new post Monday.
