But people went out and voted in Laval in the 2005 civic elections
just like they did in Montreal and the South Shore. And when it was
all over, veteran Mayor Gilles Vaillancourt's ruling party found
itself holding all 21 council seats – repeating the complete sweep
of seats the party won in 2001.
