An 87-year-old man is dead after his vehicle plunged into the ocean Saturday night near Gorge Harbour on Cortes Island. The vehicle was submerged in approximately seven feet of water.
A volunteer fire department pulled the car out, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cst. Chad Murray from Quadra Island RCMP says the victim, Howard Jarvis, suffered from confusion and was disoriented at the time of the crash.
