A police statement describes the statue as standing 18 inches tall and weighing about 20 pounds.

The Police Department’s North Hollywood area burglary detectives have asked the public for any information that would lead to an arrest.

Officer Drake Madison said Tuesday that there had been no break in the case.

The plaza where the statue stood honours significant TV personalities and pioneers. Sullivan’s classic variety show, The Ed Sullivan Show, lasted more than two decades. He died in 1974.
