BreakOut West music festival, awards show set to take over Winnipeg

WINNIPEG – Get ready to rock, Winnipeg: BreakOut West is on its way.

More than 50 of Western Canada’s top performers will soon be descending on Manitoba’s capital to celebrate music.

The 2014 BreakOut West Festival and the Western Canadian Music Awards will take over the city from Oct. 2-5.

The festival features bands and musicians from all genres, including many of Manitoba’s homegrown talents.

It’s also an opportunity for artists to showcase their talents to music industry professionals, make new fans of their music, and create new opportunities and relationships.

The kickoff party will take place at Fort Gibraltar with B.C. musician Dan Mangan headlining.

“I am so excited to be bringing the party to Winnipeg, where the music community is so vibrant,” said Robyn Stewart, BreakOut West’s executive director.
