Abbotsford police say two 15-year-old girls missing on Sumas Mountain have been found

The Abbotsford Police Department say two 15-year-old girls who didn’t return from a hike on Sumas Mountain early Monday evening have been found.

According to Cst. Ian MacDaonld, Natalie West and Paige Nagata were dropped off at a gate to Sumas Mountain Inter-Regional Park at 5:30 p.m., and were supposed to return at 7:00.

They didn’t return and didn’t make any phone calls. Neither of them brought supplies or was dressed for an overnight hike.

However, Central Fraser Valley Search and Rescue assisted with the search, and were able to find the girls shortly after 11 p.m.

The Abbotsford Police Department thanked those who assisted with the search.
