CALGARY- A man faces murder charges in connection with the death of a young woman who was shot while leaving a downtown restaurant.
26-year-old Natasha Mohamed Farah was killed outside of a bar on 11 Ave. and 1 St. S.W. last month. Police say she was a random bystander, and had simply been out enjoying a night with friends.
21-year-old Hussein Ibrahim was originally charged with discharging a firearm in connection with the case, but those charges have since been upgraded to second-degree murder.
Police took three other men into custody following Farah’s death, but two of them have since been released. Investigators are still looking to speak with anyone who witnessed the shooting.
Hussein is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 19.
