EDMONTON — The Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the cause of death in an Aug. 29th homicide, which police say was an incident of domestic violence.
An autopsy has determined that 61-year-old Baldish Kang died as a result of blunt cranial trauma in the southeast Edmonton home she shared with her husband, Piara Kang.
The 63-year-old man has been charged with second degree murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Police were called to the couple’s residence, located in the area of 37 Avenue and 13 Street, around 8:30 a.m. last Friday.
Det. Bill Clark said it was believed a man from the residence went “to a relative’s house a fair distance from here and indicated that a female had died in the residence.”
Officers found his 61-year-old wife dead inside the home.

Police took the husband into custody Friday afternoon. After speaking to witnesses, officers located him at a home in the area of 33 Avenue and 34 Street.
