After a letter from a killer to police, which admits to the murder of a Vancouver prostitute in 2002, it’s believed the victim is 24-year-old Danielle Larue.
Larue had a childhood marred by physical and sexual abuse. At an early age, she was put into foster care. At 13, she ran away to live on the streets of Prince George. Turning to drugs to escape the pain, her addiction took her to Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. She disappeared in November 2002.
On New Year’s Eve in 2002, an anonymous letter from her killer was sent to police.
The letter said, To her family I am more sorry for this than you can imagine. I did not intend this but am still responsible. Wish I could take it back but I can’t.
The letter also said flowers were put on her grave but for Larue’s sister this doesn’t bring closure, it means more questions.
“Not having any answers, that’s the worst because I have nightmares. Did she go through a lot of pain? Was it very scary for her?”
