Chilliwack Search and Rescue crews say it’s the biggest operation they’ve ever been involved with.
The volunteers were called out to the Fraser River Wednesday afternoon to rescue 35 fishermen stuck on a sandbar.

The group was stranded about 80 feet from shore with water more than 10 feet deep on either side.
More than 20 rescue volunteers were needed to get them safely back to shore.
Jet boats, sea doos and white water rafts were all used in the rescue. No one was hurt.
