Elderly woman and her companion robbed in Abbotsford Park

Two women were left shaken after being robbed in Mill Lake Park on Monday night.

According to Abbotsford police, an elderly woman using a walker and her companion had finished walking in the Abbotsford Park shortly before 9 p.m. when they were suddenly approached by two young males near the Bevan Avenue parking lot.

The two suspects, who were wearing hoodies and bandanas obscuring their faces, pointed objects at the women, which were believed to be handguns, and demanded their valuables.

After handing over their valuables, the suspects ran from the parking lot toward the intersection of Bevan Avenue and Ware Street.

The two women, one in her 80s and the other in her 40s, were extremely shaken but managed to contact police.

The one suspect is described as: South Asian male, 5’10” to 6″ tall, 150 lbs with a slim build and approximately 17 to 20 years of age. He was wearing a dark coloured hoody, dark coloured bandana with a white checkered pattern and pants.

The other suspect was also a South Asian male with a slim build and approximately 17 to 20 years of age. He is 6’0″ tall and 160 lbs and was wearing a light coloured hoody, dark coloured bandana and pants.
