CALGARY- Another rally concerning the conflict in the Gaza Strip was held in downtown Calgary on Thursday evening, drawing hundreds of people.
The ‘Calgary for Israel’ rally stared at 6 p.m. in front of City Hall. That’s where a number of similar protests have been held, including one that turned violent.
“We’re going to have a Canadian rally,” said organizer Ezra Levant in a statement before the gathering. “And it means we rally peacefully, not with violence.”
During Thursday’s protest, the talk show host expressed anger about a lack of charges being laid, following the violent protest two weeks ago.
The event also featured speakers such as Muslim author Tarek Fatah. There was also a large police presence on site.
It remained mostly peaceful, but a group of pro-Palestinian protesters showed up which led to yelling between the two groups.
They eventually separated the two groups onto opposite sides of Macleod Trail.
