Toronto man faces 9 charges in child pornography case

TORONTO – A 57-year-old Toronto man is facing nine charges for allegedly luring a teenage girl under 16 and police believe there are more victims.

Investigators say the man posed as a teenage girl over the internet and befriended his victims.

He has been charged with five counts of making child pornography, possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, make available child pornography and luring a child under 16 years.

Constable Scott McQuoid said the man was arrested as a result of a “complaint” followed by a six-month investigation. He did not specify if that came from the current victim.

Police believe some of his victims may be living overseas.

“The people he spoke to were in Canada and other parts of the world,” said Cst. McQuoid.
