Saskatchewan tornado photobombs couple’s wedding pics

WATCH: A photographer capturing a Saskatchewan couple on their wedding day snapped an image that won’t soon be forgotten—a tornado in the background. Mike Armstrong has the story.

TORONTO – A Saskatchewan couple put a new twist on wedding photography after a tornado photobombed their special day.

Photographer Colleen Niska was shooting the couple’s wedding near Saskatoon on Saturday when a funnel cloud formed in the distance.

“I’ve dreamed about a day like this! Could NOT wait to post these!” Niska wrote on Facebook. “Pretty sure this will only happen once in my lifetime!”

The photos show the bride and groom standing on a partially-flooded gravel road as a possible twister touched down on the horizon.

The photos have been shared over 13,000 times since being posted early Sunday morning.

According to Environment Canada, at least two tornadoes touched down in Saskatchewan on Saturday.

No injuries were reported.
