ARMSTRONG–A North Okanagan teen is about to set off on a big adventure into the world of pageants.
Kassidy Kleef has been selected as a delegate in the Miss Teen Canada Globe Pageant.
It’s the opportunity of a lifetime for the young woman who’s passionate about acting and about making the world a better place.
Volunteerism was a big part of the delegate selection process.
The grade 12 student from Armstrong has been volunteering since middle school.
Now, Kleef is hoping her community will support her because entering a pageant doesn’t come cheap.
She needs to raise $3000.00 for the entry fee and another $2000.00 to cover her family’s flight and hotel expenses.
The Kleef’s will have to spend nearly two weeks in Toronto this August while Kassidy participates in the 10 day event.
They City of Armstrong has provided sponsorship money, as have some local businesses and family friends, but the push is on to raise another $1200 before July 2nd.
