A resident heard her car alarm blaring and noticed the passenger door of the minivan had been left open.

When police arrived, they found the minivan’s interior extensively damaged. They believe a bear tore apart the interior in search of food. The woman said her children had recently spilled milk in the minivan, and even though it was cleaned up, the odour from the milk may have attracted the bear.

Damage to the minivan is estimated at $3,000.
