Appeal launched in fraud conviction

SASKATOON – A co-accused in one of the largest fraud cases in Saskatchewan is appealing her conviction.

Danielle Fast-Carlson and her father Ronald Fast were found guilty of defrauding more than 200 people out of almost $17 million.

Fast-Carlson was sentenced to 30 months in prison and ordered to pay one million dollars in restitution.

She cites the judge’s verdict as unreasonable and unsupported by evidence in launching her appeal.

Ronald Fast was sentenced to seven years in prison and ordered to pay the entire amount in restitution.

An appeal date has not been set.
