TORONTO — It’s Friday the 13th — the first of three this year.
Why not mark the occasion with a Friday the 13th movie marathon?
There have been 12 movies featuring mass killer Jason Voorhees since 1980. (The guy really never got over drowning at Camp Crystal Lake.)
Voorhees, portrayed in the first movie by Ari Lehman, has been played by a number of different actors and stuntmen over the years.

Only five of the Friday the 13th movies opened on the 13th.
One was filmed in Ontario (2001’s Jason X) and one was filmed in B.C. (2003’s Freddy vs. Jason). A third, 1989’s Friday the 13th, Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, was only partially shot in B.C.
Canada was also home to the spin-off TV series, which ran for three seasons in syndication from 1987 to 1990 and was made in Toronto.
And only one — Jason X — features Canadian director David Cronenberg in the cast.
Some of the stars to watch for in the movies include Kevin Bacon (killed in the first one), Corey Feldman (1984’s The Final Chapter), Tony Goldwyn (1986’s Jason Lives), and Kelly Rowland and Jason Ritter (2003’s Freddy vs. Jason).
