TORONTO — Actor Eric Stonestreet, who plays loveable Cameron on Modern Family, got into a war of words with rocker Gene Simmons on Wednesday — and it was all in defence of his mom.

“I can’t wait to run into you two old a** makeup wearing f***s and tell you in person,” Stonestreet raged on Instagram on Wednesday night. “You should have been nice to my mom.”

Stonestreet, 42, said his mother Jamey was on the same flight heading from L.A. to Kansas City as Simmons, 64, and his KISS bandmate Paul Stanley, 62.

“Gene tried to bully my mom out of her seat and when she said no, he said, ‘it’s ok, I just bought the plane,'” Stonestreet shared on Instagram, “and then asked her for HER autograph. – d*** move.”

After Stonestreet’s account of what happened on the flight went public, Simmons defended himself on Twitter.

Stonestreet then tweeted directly to Simmons.

To which, Simmons tweeted back:

Simmons insisted he was not disrespectful to Stonestreet’s mother and called the allegation “a sucker punch that came out of nowhere.” Stonestreet stood by his mom.

This prompted another reply from Simmons.

Simmons’ bandmate Paul Stanley entered the fray — and appeared to side with Stonestreet.

That tweet was apparently enough to bring the Twitter feud to a conclusion.
