TORONTO – A cat in New Zealand brought home an unusual gift for its owner — a bag of pot.
Police in Dunedin received a call from a woman claiming her cat dropped a bag of weed on her front doorstep.
“It was approximately 5 grams of cannabis, which has a street value of between $100 and $150,” Sergeant Reece Munro told Otago Daily Times.
Both the police and owner were surprised by what the cat came home with.
”You hear of cats bringing dead birds and rats home but certainly in my career I’ve never seen anything like this before,” Munro said.
There’s no word as to where the drugs originated from.
