Two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown from the vehicle, RCMP say.

The men have been identified as 23-year-old Jordan Cardinal and 33-year-old David Cardinal. Both men lived in the Saddle Lake/Goodfish Lake area. RCMP say they were brothers of the driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Tarik Cardinal.

Tarik was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers say the driver had been wearing his seat belt at the time of the collision.

The investigation is ongoing, but RCMP believe alcohol and a lack of seat belts may have been factors in the collision.
