Man killed in shooting outside Winnipeg nightclub

WINNIPEG – One man is dead following a shooting outside Opera Ultralounge early Sunday morning.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Main Street and Bannatyne Avenue around 2 a.m. after reports that several men were involved in a fight.

A man in his 20s was rushed to hospital before officers arrived on scene, police said. He has since succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been released.

Investigators are looking into whether or not there are additional victims connected to the shooting, police said in a news release.

The homicide unit is in the early stages of the investigation.
