WELLINGTON, New Zealand – An aftershock has rattled the earthquake-ravaged city of Christchurch, New Zealand, but no serious damage or injuries were reported.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the 5.0-magnitude quake struck Monday morning 13 miles (22 kilometres) west of Christchurch at a depth of 2 miles (3 kilometres).

Scores of aftershocks have followed the devastating earthquake that struck Christchurch in February, killing 181 people. The February quake was New Zealand’s most expensive natural disaster, costing an estimated $15 billion.
Monday’s quake knocked items off store shelves, but officials say there were no reports of serious damage or injuries.
