24-year old Ryan Gibson apologized to the family of Brandon Thomas in Calgary court Wednesday.
17-year-old Brandon Thomas was killed when Gibson’s pickup truck hit him in December, 2012.
Gibson pleaded guilty earlier this year to impaired driving and admitted his blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit.
14 victim impact statements were read in court Wednesday.
Gibson says he does not expect to be forgiven for the death of Thomas.
Both the crown prosecutor and defense are asking for a two year prison term.
The judge is expected to rule in May.
Brandon Thomas’ mother says she’s glad the judge is going to review all of the evidence.
