The field area is shared by three schools: Sir John A. Macdonald Sr. Public School, St. Anne Elementary School and Kingswood Drive Public School.

Police said the man appears to be white and in his 20s or 30s. He has not been identified.

At one point, students were not allowed to go outside.

Police say the schools were not in hold and secure mode but “student movement was restricted so as not to interfere in police investigation.”
