SASKATOON – The majority of charges have been stayed against a Saskatoon man in a standoff last fall.

Nine other gun and drug related charges were stayed; the Crown did not provide a reason for the decision.

The charges stemmed from a seven-hour standoff in the 400-block of 3rd Avenue North on Oct. 2, 2013.

Heaton was with his 20-year-old girlfriend Kaitlyn Nicole Daniels when they refused to stop for police.

She pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and evading police and received 45 days in jail, a one-year driving ban and 10 months of probation with conditions including having no contact with Heaton.
