HALIFAX – Volleyball coach Joseph Emile “Luc” Potvin is facing three additional charges in connection with an investigation to inappropriate conduct with a 17-year-old girl.
In addition to the charges laid Friday, police in Halifax now accuse the 53-year-old of production of child pornography, distribution of child pornography and sexual assault.
Halifax Regional Police and RCMP have not released the connection Potvin had with the girl, but say he held a position of trust with her.
Following up on a complaint against the man, officers conducted an investigation and searched a residence on Portland Hills Dr., in Dartmouth, early Friday morning.
At that time they found evidence of child pornography on a computer at the home and arrested Potvin at that time and charged him with luring a child, sexual exploitation and possession of child pornography.
He has been held in custody at the Nova Scotia Correctional Facility since that time and was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court Monday.
