Woman seriously injured in crash involving school bus and car in Nova Scotia

<p>BROOKLYN, N.S. – Several students were badly shaken and a woman seriously injured when a school bus collided with a car in rural Nova Scotia today.</p> <p>RCMP were called to an intersection near Brooklyn in Hants County just before 8 a.m.</p> <p>The jaws of life was used to remove a woman driving the car and she has been transported to hospital in Halifax.</p> <p>Kirsten Loyst, a spokeswoman for the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board, says there were 15 students and a driver on the bus at the time of the accident.</p> <p>Loyst says all were checked by paramedics, parents were notified and the students have since been transported to their schools.</p> <p>She says they will continue to monitor the students during the day to make sure there are no lingering issues.</p> <p>RCMP remain on the scene at the intersection of the Murdock Harvey Road and Highway 215 as investigators try to determine if heavy rain was a contributing factor in the crash.</p>
