N.B. Red Cross helping 12 made homeless after fatal apartment fire in port city

<p>SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The Canadian Red Cross says it is providing help to 12 people after a fatal fire destroyed an apartment building in Saint John, N.B.</p> <p>One person died in Sunday’s blaze at the four-unit building on First Street.</p> <p>Police have not identified the victim.</p> <p>The Red Cross says it has made temporary housing arrangements and provided food and clothing for five adults and seven children, most of whom fled the early morning fire in night clothes.</p> <p>A fire official has said the flames travelled quickly through the walls and ceiling of the wood frame building.</p> <p>The fire remains under investigation. </p>
