<p>LUNENBURG, N.S. – The first plank has been laid on the rebuilt hull of the schooner Bluenose II.</p> <p>The milestone in the restoration of the fabled wooden schooner took place today on the Lunenburg waterfront.</p> <p>The $14.8-million project began last fall.</p> <p>The tall ship’s hull has been rebuilt using Angelique timber that is more resistant to rotting.</p> <p>Modern building methods are also being employed to hopefully reduce the need for extensive maintenance.</p>
