Nova Scotia RCMP charge dog owner with criminal negligence after woman attacked

<p>YARMOUTH, N.S. – A 40-year-old Yarmouth, N.S., man has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm after a woman was attacked by a dog in March.</p> <p>The 45-year-old woman suffered head and upper torso wounds in the March 26 attack and underwent surgery at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.</p> <p>Two officers tried to pull the dog from the injured woman and then shot the animal.</p> <p>The Mounties say they arrested Gary Joseph Woods, the dog’s owner, on Friday.</p> <p>Woods has been released pending a May 31 court appearance. </p>
